ENGINEER, HSE (ALFANAR PROJECTS)
Job Purpose
This Position exists to supervise safety system implementation efficiently, in timely manner and quality standards as per the defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.
Key Accountability Areas
. Ensure compliance of EMS (ISO 14001), OHS (ISO 45001 ) and Client/Country, provicial and municipal authorities.
. Develop the EHS performance metrics to facilitate continuous, ongoing improvement of the EHS efforts and results.
. Manage collection of key performance indicator metrics and perform analysis to drive EHS strategy and business process improvement.
. Organize and participate in risk/hazard evaluations of existing processes, procedures, operating areas, equipment etc.
. controlling and maintaining OHS and EMS records of different project sites.
. collect Site daily, weekly and monthly reports, to monitor the effectiveness of the EHS system and generate further action plan for improvement.
. obtain, update, and maintain EMS & OHS plans, permits, and standard operating procedures.
. Manage the external EMS & OHSAS audit at site and head office by maintaining all necessary records and their updating.
. Visit and audit the sites on regular intervals to ensure EMS & OH&S systems are being followed as per requirements of the Alfanar and client’s standards.
. communicate and discuss audit findings by preparing a final report with auditees.
. Communicate effectively and professionally with sub-contractor management throughout conducting audits and inspection process to develop a mutually effective audit & inspection work schedule.
. Keep a liaison with other country lead EHS/OHS engineers to track the EMS and OHS implementation
. Ensure site-specific health and safety protocols, such as spill contingency plans and methods for loading and transporting waste are as per legal standards.
. Working closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting project site management, Execution staffs and EHS staff to understand and implement EMS & OHS policies and procedures.
. Prepare, Execute and Evaluate Effective Training Program on Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety compliance.
. Assisting the contractor selection process by reviewing the EMS & OHS Policy and procedures of Sub-contractors, as per Client requirement of EPC contracts.
. Communicate to Sub-contractors about the company EMS & OHS System and ensure its implementation.
. Monitor Sub-Contractor's compliance towards company's Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety system, while working on site.
. Develop strong working relationships with Facilities Managers, Clients, and other key associates to ensure compliance, cooperation & support with EHS matters.
Carry out incident analysis and assist Engineers/supervisors with performing root cause analysis of all incidents and assist in case management of reported injuries.
. Maintain records of all incidents/accidents and should report immediately to TSM department.
. Develop the strategies and improvement plans to achieve sustainable excellence by reducing injuries, illness, and environmental impact.

Academic Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Safety Engineering
