Alfanar Projects Joins Panel on Sustainable Aviation at North Sea Decarbonisation Conference
As part of the North Sea Decarbonisation Conference held in London
Alfanar Projects participated in a high-level panel discussion titled "Greening the Skies: Fueling the Future of Sustainable Aviation." The session brought together industry leaders from companies including Worley and Fluor to explore how Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) can help accelerate the UK’s transition to net zero, addressing the region’s decarbonization challenges, with a focus on carbon capture initiatives and the creation of effective policy frameworks to support sustainable innovation.
Representing Alfanar Projects, Eng. Noaman Al Adhami, UK Country Head, shared insights on the growing importance of SAF and how market and policy changes in the UK and EU are influencing its future. Additionally, he talked about the importance of feedstock availability, new technological developments, and the vital role that unique solutions play in facilitating scale and commercial viability.
In his remarks, Eng. Noaman also emphasized Alfanar Projects’ Lighthouse Green Fuels program, which is leading the way in creating a carbon-negative Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). He described how, once operational, the plant is anticipated to generate 135,000 barrels of ultra-low carbon fuel per year, which is sufficient to power about 27,500 low-carbon flights.
Eng. Noman Al Adhami commented on this participation, “Participating in this conference reflects how Alfanar Projects is aligned with the UK’s national vision on carbon capture and climate action. It also reaffirms our commitment to building a more sustainable future through innovation and cross-border collaboration.”
