In line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Saudi Electricity Company started the smart meters roll-out project which aims at propelling KSA to a new era of digital transformation. The project included the installation of 10 million smart meters for all current users. Mobily and Alfanar installed 5 million meters in the central and eastern regions from 2019 to 2021. One-third of the installed smart meters were manufactured locally.

The process started in the dispatch center where working teams were assigned their weekly duties using a state-of-the-art fleet management program. With each sunrise, our technical teams set out on their routes equipped with their mandatory safety equipment. And in parallel, each set of materials was dispatched from the central warehouses to the installation location.

This project was a turning point for our country and Alfanar was committed to executing this project in the highest standards with the aim of having a role in propelling our country to the highest levels of digitalization.
