Alfanar Energía Establishes Its First 30/132 kV Substation in Asturias, Spain
Alfanar Energía marked its first project under construction in Asturias, Spain, by initiating work on the Viento de Sellía 30/132 kV substation as part of its endeavors to support Spain’s energy transition by enabling greater integration of renewable energy into the national grid.
Scheduled for commissioning in mid-2027, the substation will receive electricity generated by several wind farms, including the 16 MW Viento de Sellía Wind Farm, and prepare it for efficient transmission to the grid.
The substation is expected to step up voltage from 30 kV to 132 kV, while incorporating advanced protection, control, and metering systems. The project represents another step forward in Alfanar Energía's growing presence in Spain's renewable energy sector.
