Lighthouse Green Fuels Participates in DeCarbon Copenhagen 2026
To reinforce its leadership in the industry, Lighthouse Green Fuels (LGF), developed by Alfanar Projects, was pleased to participate in DeCarbon Copenhagen 2026,
with Dr. Simon Owens, Director of Engineering & Technical at Lighthouse Green Fuels, contributing to the panel “Status Check – SAF from Biomass.”
During the discussion, Dr. Simon highlighted how decarbonization across the full value chain becomes a core driver for SAF projects. The discussion covered feedstock sourcing, traceability, logistics, and conversion efficiency to reduce carbon intensity and protect the integrity and long-term value of SAF.
He also emphasized that building integrated, reliable biomass supply chains is essential not only for project delivery, but for ensuring SAF can play its intended role in reducing aviation emissions. The panel further explored how advanced biomass pathways can expand SAF production beyond the constraints of waste oils and fats, offering a long-term, scalable solution to meet growing demand.
“Scaling biomass-based SAF is about building confidence in traceable supply chains, strong carbon performance, and reliable delivery at scale. Participating in industry forums like DeCarbon Copenhagen is essential to align on standards, share practical lessons, and accelerate delivery, supporting the UK’s Jet Zero ambition and the SAF Mandate,” said Dr. Simon.
